About us
Who is behind YelmeAtlas — and how the findings are made.
Who we are
YelmeAtlas is built and run by Younes El Mestari under the YELME brand, a sole proprietorship in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt, Germany. I am a software engineer and product manager; YelmeAtlas grew out of a question of my own: why do teams never read their thousands of app reviews, yet still decide by the loudest anecdote?
What YelmeAtlas does
YelmeAtlas collects an app's public reviews from the App Store and Google Play, counts what users complain about and what they praise, groups free text into named topics, and shows real quotes with date and stars for every topic. The result is a finding you can look up — not a summary you have to believe.
How the findings are made
Every number is rule-based: the complaint rate from stars, topics by statistical clustering, sentiment by word lists — no language model, deterministic, and traceable for every figure. We describe the rules and their thresholds openly in our article series “Behind the Map”; each article states what was measured and where the method reaches its limits.
How the articles are made
I write the articles myself, from the work on the product. Figures in them are real measurements on public reviews; where something is an example, it says “example”. Corrections are welcome — contact below.
